I was introduced to Terri Levine at a conference about the
benefits of “Surrendering the Outcome” when General Electric hired her as a keynote speaker. As a sales person, this was my first exposure to this concept. After listening to Terri, it became quite clear that there was an alternative way to analyze and assess situations. I became a “student” of Terri hired her instantly and simultaneously began to grow my business as an agent as well as grow my horizons as an individual.
Terri and I had been working together for a year when I was offered a “fabulous opportunity” – take over and attempt to turn around the least productive sales office in the country (number 54 out of 54 offices) for General Electrics long-term care insurance division.
Terri had helped me grow individually as an agent; however, the big challenge now was to guide me in transforming a dysfunctional office into a winning team. Following Terri’s guidance, I began with the primary asset of the organization – the Sales Agents. Terri suggested that I identify each agent’s strengths and acknowledge them to the agent.
