How to go From Six to Seven Figures

How do you go from six figures to seven figures? How do you really do it? Well, the first thing I’m going to tell you is that you have to have a lot of confidence and a strong belief in your expertise. I’ve never met someone who went from six to seven figures who didn’t have tons of confidence and really believed in themselves and in the products and services they were offering.

The second thing is you have to have the right inner landscape, the right inner mindset, the right inner talk, the right attitude, because unless you can believe it, you cannot conceive it.

Now, let’s talk about what else you have to have. You have to have the right processes and the right systems. Most business owners don’t get to seven figures because they don’t know the right processes and systems. That’s why you need a mentor. I have never done anything alone in my life. When I want a good eating plan, I hire a mentor; when I want a good training plan, I hire a mentor; when I wanted to do jujitsu, I hired a mentor; when I wanted to become a racecar driver, I hired the best racecar driver that could teach me. So you’ve got to have the right mentor that is going to give you the right systems and processes to instill in your business. If you want to go from six to seven figures, you need somebody who’s already done seven figures and has routinely made seven figures. This person needs to have already helped other people make seven figures. You’ve got to have these right tools.

I also recommend that you have the right mastermind, the right network of people to brainstorm with, hang out with and play in a forum with. You want to have lots of like-minded people in there.

Next thing is you need to take the right daily actions. Most business owners are busy doing the wrong things. Every single day you have to be doing the right things. You also have to be asking the right coaching questions and your mentor needs to be asking the right questions of you.

Everybody who makes seven figures that I know does it by leveraging. They leverage whatever it is that they have. They’re able to leverage connections, products, services. They’re also able to sell the same thing in many different formats. Think of this: a seven-figure business owner knows how to maximize everything.

There’s an expression that I’ve been using for many years called fail forward. What do I mean by that? It means just go ahead and do it. Go do it! I love when Nike says, “Just do it,” and it’s really my philosophy. Fail forward. Just jump in and start doing it. When I train people to be business coaches, I say, “Just start coaching.” And they say, “But what if I’m not good?” That’s how you’ll learn. You’ll fail forward. I started out 30 years ago as a speech language pathologist, and I was a pretty crummy one to boot, but I got better the more that I did it. So you just start doing it, and then you’ll perfect it as time goes on.

How else do you become a seven-figure business owner? You have to know how to have hot leads. What’s a hot lead? It’s someone that is ready to buy. They’re already investigating or interested in the kinds of products and services you have. So let’s say that you sell running shoes. A hot lead is someone who is already a runner, and they already have a desire to have running shoes. That’s who you want to be speaking to.

Seven-figure business owners have automated their business. Everything runs. They’ve got retention systems; they’ve got referral systems; it’s all automatic.

Everyday they are increasing the lifetime value to their clients and of their clients or customers. What do I mean by that? They’re adding on more bonuses, more and more value than their clients expected, and they’re also requesting higher and higher fees for their products and services.

They are great at lead conversion. What do I mean by that? A hot lead comes in and says, “Hey, I’m a runner; I’m interested in running shoes.” This business owner knows just how to take a hot lead and convert them without selling, and again, that’s a system.

Finally, it’s about having an offer that’s irresistible. Whatever you’re selling, a product or a service, you make the offer so irresistible that customers just can’t say no. It could be a money back guarantee or a risk reversal, whatever it might be.

I want to take you to seven figures.

How to Take Success to the Next Level

Are you ready to take your business to the next level and really be more successful? Let me give you a couple of tips.

No. 1, it’s important to be studying from someone who has grown their own business and helped others. Get yourself a mentor, business strategist, someone like me. It’s really important that instead of making mistakes, you learn from someone who’s already made them so you don’t spend a lot of time, energy and money.

No. 2, I want you to spend time on your business and more time on your business than in it. What do I mean by that? Most business owners spend so much time doing what they do – a chiropractor is going treatments or adjustments; a physician is seeing patients; a coach is coaching clients, etc. Whatever business you’re in, you need to spend at least four solid hours every single week working on your business. That means working on strategies and implementing those strategies.

What else can you do to take your business to the next level? Well, this may sound like a funny thing to tell you, but it’s actually to have more free time. I know that seems crazy, but keep ready. I want you to get away from your business once in a while. You need to go for a walk, go on vacation, take some time to yourself just to think quietly, process what’s going on in your business. Many of you, like me, think best when you’re in the shower or in a hot tub. You can get some great ideas when you just let you mind sit and think .That’s why I want you to take some time away from your business.

Here is one more bonus tip: when you’re working on your business, make sure that it is non-interruptible time. No phone, no text messages, no e-mail. Seriously, roll up your sleeves and concentrate only on making your business better.

The Importance of Great Customer Service

Let’s talk about something really important in your business today; customer service. I think that most companies don’t spend enough time on helping employees learn customer service. Every employee needs to be customer service-oriented. Every employee needs to be taking the best interest of the client or customer at hand. They need to know that they have to focus on the customer and that decisions need to be made as if standing in the customer’s shoes.

When you can get all of your staff focusing on keeping customers satisfied and making efforts to “wow” customers, then you will have customers and referrals for life. So right here, today, right now, begin sharing with your employees that there is nothing more important than customer service!

Top Mistakes Made Business Owners

Today, I’m going to help your business grow by sharing the biggest mistakes that business owners make.

The first mistake that many business owners make is that they really don’t have an ideal client profile in mind. They don’t know exactly who their ideal customer is. So it’s very hard to do marketing and to find your ideal customer if you are marketing in a general way. So you’ve got to not only be niche-specific, but you have to be very clear on who your ideal client is.

The second mistake that business owners make is they do not have a unique core positioning statement. Forget elevator speeches. Forget USPs; unique selling propositions. A unique core positioning statement is what separates you from everybody else in the marketplace instantly. It’s one sentence.

The third mistake they make is they have no way to compel people to come to them. Instead they’re hunting and they’re trying to find clients and customers. We do reverse marketing where people come to us, find us, and raise their hands and express interest.

And the biggest mistake that I see is that people really do not do the research. They don’t know what their ideal clients want and need. They’re just trying to market their products and services without knowing what it is the buyer wants. If you’ll make sure you don’t make these mistakes you will be far more profitable in your business.
